Through the years there have been times in my life of great discipline and commitment given to the reading and study of the Bible. At other times, my attentiveness to the Word of God has been less than inspiring. The plain truth of the matter is, I can look back now and clearly see the difference in my life. From my daily actions to the decisions I made in life, the integrity of my choices tracked with my time in God’s word.
Recently I came across statistics which were the result of an 8-year study of 100,000 people from all over the world. This study was conducted by (CBE) The Center for Bible Engagement. They discovered many profound truths. One tremendous truth is they learned that engaging the Bible four or more days a week is the most powerful predictor of spiritual growth. Those who did this:
- Decreased people’s likelihood to feel spiritually stagnant by 60%
- Decreased people’s feelings of loneliness and difficulty forgiving by 30%
- Increased their likelihood to share their faith with others by 228%
It is difficult today to get people to understand the relationship between a content life and the reading of scripture. Here at Newby Management, we do know its value. Therefore, it is important to us to make available to every new homeowner a copy of God’s word embossed with their name on it. It is why every community has a media rack containing simple Bible studies addressing many different situations we find ourselves in throughout the seasons of life. In addition, we find it important to maintain prayer and devotions the team are able to participate in.
It’s exciting to see the God of Heaven to reveal Himself to us through the Bible and in turn through us reveal Himself to a world.
